Note: Testing cannot be completed unless both of the proper specimen types are received. EDTA plasma is required for PTH (Intact), and serum is required for Calcium. Plasma: Plasma must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send plasma in a plastic transport tube clearly labeled as EDTA plasma and maintain at refrigerated temperature. Serum: Serum must be separated from cells within 45 minutes of venipuncture. Send serum in a plastic transport tube and maintain at a refrigerated temperature.
